| Hi, vagur! I have some information for you) As I know - you have a chans to apply a position on Bridge, but this chans is so little( Cause most of cruise Companies (I'm from Ukraine and that's why I can give you information only from our crew agensies) in our country invite Officer staff from Engenering department, but not from Deck( My best friend (Second Mate, works on Oil Tankers) now end his conract and try to find a position on cruise lines, but without any sucsessfull yet( But don't give up and try to find your way out from trade fleet! | Hello to everybody! I read your forum and I liked it. I would love to know one important thing for me. I understood that most of you are russian, aren't you? And I know that salaries in Russia are not small. I talk about it because I'm from Ukraine and our salaries are not high(I mean the middle level, if you work for somebody not for yourself)
And I look for job on ship because of money, because salary on ship is higher than in my country! And what about Russia? I really want to know why do russian people look for a work on cruises?

I don't know what about anybody else, but I LOVE to work in tourism, I LOVE to work with people (not in a dusty office - this is terrible), I'm dreaming about cruise work many years already and money interesting me not so much as people, I'm interesting to see a lot of different amasing places of the world!!!! Money - it's just a paper, nothing!!! The most important things in life - your memorys, emotions and feels of what you saw in your life!!!!! I don't know how people could to think about money, when they meet a lot of very interesting people, when they saw amasing nature around..... i don't know... How think the same???

Please tell me how to start, how much money should I pay and what for exactly I will pay, what company is the best for to choose (but not too expansive), what companies better - Russian or Ukrainian??????????????

| Hi guys, has anybody worked as a receptionist or sales person? Is it real to get these positions if you hadnt worked at the boat before? And about recommendations, is it SO important  ? Does anybody can give the advices how to make these recommendation letters??? Thanks to everybody for replies.
